Frame Machine
Gensis 2 - by Chief Automotive Systems
The Genesis computerized measuring system provides information that can assist in determining if there is structural misalignment and if that misalignment is a result of the collision. Genesis can also serve as a visual guide to help technicians restore the vehicle to proper structural alignment and provide documentation of these repairs.
The Genesis system measures by having two rotating lasers project light towards reflective targets suspended from the vehicles reference points. Photo sensors identify the angle of the reflected light and Genesis automatically processes the final calculations and reports the reference point measurements.
Genesis compares vehicle specifications to the actual vehicle reference point measurements. When variances in measurements fall in line with damage that is consistent with a particular type of collision, the variances exceeding the tolerances are most likely collision related.
Alignment Rack
Alignment Rack - by Gensis Engineering Company
The Gensis alignment rack measures the car's current alignment measurements and angles. This is done by mounting an electronic sensor on each of the car's four wheels.
The sensors use infrared beams to measure the position and angle of each wheel and determine exactly in which direction each wheel is pointing. A car severely out of alignment may have all four wheels pointing in different directions. As the technician steers the wheels to various positions for a complete set of alignment measurements, the sensors send information to the aligner's computer console. The computer compares your car's current alignment measurements to the manufacture's (O.E.M.) specifications in its database.
The aligner then provides the technician with the exact information he needs to adjust your car's alignment to match factory specifications.
* All alignments come with a printed read out of before and after specs.
